- From the 22 Commonwealth countries came a magnificent flash of colour and haute couture when a combined fashion show entitled "The Commonwealth in Time and Season" was staged before Princess Margaret and top ranking Commonwealth personalities. Some of the world’s top models wore the wide variety of wonderful clothes spanning the feminine tastes of one fifth of the earth. The show was presented in aid of the Commonwealth Appeal of Action for Crippled Children.
