Summary
For 77 years Scotland Yard has stood in the shadow of Big Ben, it has become world famous as the Headquarters of the Metropolitan police. But progress in the forms of science and technology and know-how in both crime fighting and many other every day tasks undertaken by police have meant expansion. New Scotland Yard has moved. Its new headquarters, a sky-scraper block, not far away from the original site in Broadway, Westminster. All the latest methods to speed the routine work of records, fingerprinting etc, have been automated. The Metropolitan police can now justifiably boast that they have one of the most modern headquarters of any law enforcement agency in the world.
