MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Air Raid Damage - Dockland. DESCRIPTION: Nazi bombers attack the capital by night, many houses were hit. Civilian morale remained high and The King was among the first to visit the damaged areas. SHOTLIST: Shots of damaged Public House and Church. Shot of Crucifix still intact. Elevated shots of people with their belongings. Shipping dock on fire. Long shot showing skeleton of building believed to by Tate and Lyle’s building. Demolition squad at work. Evacuated people from the dockland area. Damaged houses near dockland - crater in road - houses demolished. "Battle Of London" Night shots - London Dockland ablaze. Various shots. Day shots - Streets ruined - very good shots of ruins. Bus up-ended against building in Mornington Crescent. Ruins of hospital. Churches - Crucifix intact. Children in ruins search for souvenirs.
