Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: King in France (Second Story). DESCRIPTION: His Majesty makes a tour of inspection and lunches in a small cafe. SHOTLIST: The King’s car drives through lines of troops with the Standard fluttering from the front. HM inspects a Guards Battalion and then French troops march past. The King goes to lunch at an estaminet and with him are Lord Gort and the Duke of Gloucester. Shots of King George V in France. (In this are President Poincare, Marshal Foch and Earl Haig). The King then tours twenty five pounder batteries and once more the former King’s tour is shown. The King picks his way over the mud walking on duck-boards and the Duke of Gloucester is present. A Scottish regiment is seen on the march.
