Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Tour - America (2). DESCRIPTION: The King and Queen at the World’s Fair and Columbia University. They then stay with the Roosevelt family at Hyde Park. SHOTLIST: Large Crowds cheer as the King and Queen drive through the streets to the World’s Fair. On arrival they are greeted by Grover Whalen. Then the Royal Pair drive round the exhibitions in a trackless train passing as they go round, large photos of themselves. Later they visit Columbia University and the Dean, Dr Nicholas Murray, points out a plaque which announces that the college was founded by George III. At Hyde Park, a Presidential group is photographed, which included the King and Queen. The President and his wife and mother. On the following Sunday they go to the Church and this time James Roosevelt accompanies them.
