Summary
French troops patrol streets of Beirut in an attempt to keep order, while crowds in the streets cheer and jeer. British Minister of State Resident in the Middle East. Mr RG Casey arrives in Beirut for consultations with Sir Edward Spears the British Minister in Lebanon. However, latest news is that the President and his Ministers are now released. (The trouble arose out of a deadlock between the Lebanese Republican Government and the French Committee of National Liberation on the question of Lebanese independence.)
