History
The Shell Catalogue described Scrapbook as ‘a cinemagazine for farmers.' Issues were generally around 18 minutes long and focused on improvements to farming technology using Shell and BP products. The films were shown, using mobile film units, to rural social groups and farming organisations, at their request, as part of an audio-visual programme specially tailored to a farming audience. During 1949-1950 the Shell-BP Farm Service organised 400 film shows. The most popular item on the programme was Scrapbook, which was requested 325 times. It was produced by Random Film Productions.
