    A public learning laboratory, The Exploratorium, is devoted to just that: exploring the world through science, art and human perception. Their mission is ‘to create inquiry-based experiences that transform learning worldwide’ and perhaps more importantly their vision is ‘a world where people think for themselves and can confidently ask questions, question answers, and understand the world around them’. The museum makes available a vast range of, video programmes, organised by subjects, including: Arts (532 videos), Astronomy and Space (220), Biology (331), Chemistry (97), History (35), Mathematics (19), Nature of Science (13), Perception (55), Physics (215), and Social Science (575). There is also a Websites section with over 35, 000 pages of content, which can be explored by subject too.

    Brilliantly designed interactive resource on the Royal Society of Chemistry website. The table features history, alchemy, podcasts (with transcripts), videos, and data trends across the periodic table, which can be navigated via tabs at the top of the table, or by clicking on the symbols for the individual elements themselves.

    94 Elements is a global filmmaking project, exploring our lives through the lens of the elements. Users can submit their own films dedicated to Elements (so far there are five) and Compounds. The next stage of the project will use live data from across the web to "create a range of interactive tools and visualisations exploring our use and exploitation of the elements".

    The Association Science & Télévision (AST) is a group of independent producers working for 37 different production companies based in France. These companies produce films in all genres but a large portion of their output is devoted to scientific productions. Together, they produce the vast majority of scientific programming broadcast on television in France, much of which also circulates abroad. The website (in French and English versions) gives details of the member companies and the association’s activities, together with a catalogue of the films they have produced (searchable by title or producer), with links to the producer’s site for further filmographic information.

    Shotlist, part of the EBS Trust, produces subject-specific video materials for teaching and research, which are distributed at minimal cost to all UK education establishments, who are also able to purchase sub-masters from which they are permitted to copy, re-edit, and re-format the programmes according to their own needs. The site gives descriptions of the videos by subject: Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Engineering, Information Systems, Practical Maths, Psychology, and a series of lectures on Irish literary figures including Joyce, Wilde and Yeats.

    Formerly known as PSIgate (Physical Sciences Information Gateway), this site is the physical sciences hub of Intute (formerly known as the Resource Discovery Network or RDN). Intute became inactive in 2011 and the archived site was closed in December 2014. Here is presented an archive of the listings that are still available in the physical sciences: astronomy, chemistry, earth sciences, physics and general science.
