Presto Centre (previously PrestoSpace) serves the audiovisual communities interested in digitisation and digital preservation worldwide. Its main objective is to provide advice on technical requirements, format decisions, legal decisions or online publishing requirements through free resources, use cases and publications. The site includes a Resources Archive section which offers a collection of text-based and mostly downloadable documents like white papers, technical reports, digests, references to information websites, instructional material and procedure guides.

The Research Channel was an educational television network based at the University of Washington in Seattle and operated by a consortium of leading US research and academic institutions who contributed science-related programming to viewers in the United States and in other countries via satellite and cable television. Due to funding issues broadcasting ceased in 2010, but the collection of over 300 programmes is still available on YouTube.

MIT Video is a free and open site that aggregates and curates video produced by the offices, laboratories and administration at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This includes lectures and seminars, feature and editorial videos and more. There are over 150 separate channels that group videos together by subject, such as Robotics, Music & Theater, Energy, Innovation, etc. Every day the editorial team selects one or more videos based on its production values, content and timeliness. The Caltech Archives’ (California Institute of Technology) holdings include an extensive library of audio and video recordings of lectures and other scientific presentations. It holds the original tapes of the 1961–1962 Feynman lectures on physics. Also held is a series of about 60 interviews with physicists worldwide conducted by Caltech’s Kip Thorne while researching his book, Black Holes and Time Warps: Einstein’s Outrageous Legacy (1994). Most audio and video holdings are preserved in their original format and the Archive is incrementally migrating older analog media to digital formats for preservation and to make them accessible online. Audio and video material may be identified through a search of our catalogue by a name or keyword.
