Although there are many websites devoted to classic TV programmes, this one distinguishes itself for its better than average design and layout and for the seriousness with which it approaches its subject and the level of detail it provides. The site includes broadcast information on UK TV and some radio programmes, giving credits and transmission dates (both mostly taken from the Radio Times), interviews, articles, news, as well as a discussion forum with some 300 registered users. There is also a link to the homepage of a related publication, Timescreen which is devoted to TV fantasy programmes - it includes web versions of the magazine’s articles. In addition there is a gazetteer which features useful details of other similar forums, details on distributors and like-minded publications.
Online film studies journal based in Australia that provides serious but not overly jargonistic articles, reviews of the latest books and films and information on international conferences and even runs job adverts. It also includes links to around forty other sites. It is certainly one of the most straightforward and enjoyable of the many film studies e-journals currently available.
