    The Labor Film Database lists nearly 2,000 films and videos from around the world about work, workers and worker’s issues. The database is searchable by title, director, actors and/or keywords (e.g. discrimination, global economy, whistleblowing). The synopses vary in length and detail but are informative and well written. Many of the entries are accompanied by the streamed film; there are also trailers and film stills. The database is intended to serve as a valuable resource for programmers of film festivals highlighting work and workers. Users of the site are encouraged to submit suggestions for films to be included on the database.

    The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum exists to collect, preserve and interpret the impact rock has made on popular culture. The evolving story of rock can be found on the blog and feature pages offering news, artist interviews, performance notes, and the latest event and exhibit happenings. The video series pages offer many streamed videos including Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney and Queen being inducted into the Hall of Fame and performances from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bruce Springsteen, Chuck Berry and many others. The Short Video pages offer interviews with a range of performers, reminiscences such as Ringo Starr talking about his first drum kit and an edition on ‘Hound Dog’ and the twelve bar blues. The Museum’s Library contains over 1400 videos and 5,600 audio titles which can be accessed via the the online catalogue.

    A visually incoherent site (a consequence of downloading text direct from other sites) which brings together an impressive amount of information from numerous sources documenting the life and work of the Irish playwright and novelist. The site lists online texts, literature festivals and events, reviews, articles, and other websites and blogs devoted to Beckett. There are audio and film and television sections which indicate when a recording or broadcast is available commercially on CD or DVD (a warning that these are not always up to date) The site also records material available in other countries and in other languages. A small number of titles are streamed.

    Founded in 1976, NCJF is recognised as a world leader in the collection, restoration and exhibition of Jewish art and culture. The Centre has led the revival of Yiddish Cinema and its priority is the preservation and restoration of rare and endangered film materials. To date, the Centre has restored more than 100 rare and orphan films that document the diversity and vibrancy of Jewish culture, including 44 Yiddish films. NCJF provides programming consultation and research assistance to filmmakers, artists, educators, curators and organisations. The Centre is also an exhibitor, producing programmes for the public, including 17 Boston-area film festivals. Under its fiscal sponsorship program, NCJF provides a non-profit umbrella to independent filmmakers.

    Over 300 films are available for online purchase on DVD.

    DER is a US-based distributor of documentaries whose mission is to promote thought-provoking documentary film and media for learning about the people and cultures of the world. The films can be searched by title, geographical area, or subject. The subject headings are helpfully specific such as Aging, Conflict Resolution, Immigration, Language and Communication. The collection is particularly strong in ethnographic film. Each entry carries a full synopsis, a list of related films where relevant and awards won. A streaming licence service is offered and there are links to film festivals. The company offers sponsorship to filmmakers whose work supports its aims.

    Short Film Central was started in 2005 to help filmmakers promote their short films. Since then, the international short film database has been updated daily by filmmakers, film schools, distributors, exhibitors and others in the short film industry. Short Film Central aims to help extend the life of short films, which often ends after their initial 1-2 year festival run. Film owners can show their films or trailers on their short film profiles, and film fans can request short films which are not yet available. The site provides a database of short films with sophisticated search options including searches by animation technique, subtitle languages and films available on DVD or YouTube; People can be searched by their role, e.g. animators, storyboard editors and sound artists. The site also provides information on film festivals and awards.

    Indiewire is a daily news site for the independent film community. It covers independent, documentary and foreign language films, as well as industry news, film festival reports, filmmaker interviews and movie reviews. The website has sections for high-profile film festivals, film information and release dates, critic ratings of films (criticWIRE), filmmaker and industry blogs, as well as resources and tools for emerging and established filmmakers. The blog network houses entertainment blogs such the video blog Press Play, a video essay source built on a mix of original video essays and critical, personal writing about film, TV, and their connection to broader cultural concerns.

    Senses of Cinema is an Australian-based online journal devoted to "the serious and eclectic discussion of cinema". It includes book reviews, festival reports and feature articles on cinema from both internationally known authorities to previously unpublished cinephiles. Altohugh the site does not host any audiovisual content itself, there is a an extensive list of links to films and clips, although some appear to be inactive.     This site is one of the outcomes of a research project led by academics at the Universities of Sussex and Warwick. The focus is on new writings about global forms of queer cinema, based mainly, though not exclusively on scholarly models from queer theory and film studies. There is a mixture of short articles and longer essays, as well as multimedia work and video essays. A resources page has links to other online studies and other useful information, including an interactive map showing 256 LGBT/queer film festivals which have existed around the world since 1977.
