    A podcast produced by the Royal Veterinary College and presented by Dr Mark Cleasby and colleagues. The podcast offers up to the minute information on animal diseases, from arthritis and bird flu to vaccines and zoo animal health. There is also news about the work and research being conducted at the Royal Veterinary College. Production values are fairly basic but the quality of the podcasts is in the expertise of the contributors, making this an essential listen for veterinary students as well as zoologists and animal scientists. The podcast is free and also available in iTunes.

    Nucleus Health creates animations, illustrations and interactive multimedia relating to medicine, primarily designed for patient education. Their animation library includes over 200 high quality 3D animations which cover a variety of subjects, including cardiology, dermatology, breast cancer, diagnostic tests and procedures, ear, nose and throat (ENT), emergency medicine, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology. The animations are freely available to view in watermarked versions. Users who buy a licence can use the content on their own websites.

Aimed at cardiologists, anaesthetists, radiologists and medical students, the site makes it easy for users to upload and share their own videos as well as to discuss what other users have uploaded.     An oral history website which presents 100 interviews with people with diabetes, as well as their family members and healthcare professionals. The histories span people’s experiences from the 1920s - when insulin was first used as a treatment - to the early years of the 21st century, offering a unique record of how people have lived with the illness over the years. The interviews are presented with background notes, short audio samples and full interviews, which are divided into separate tracks and accompanied by full transcripts. The site is based at the Oxford Society for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism and is the result of two Wellcome Trust funded projects.
