On-demand streaming platform for educational institutions featuring over 26,000 films from leading producers including PBS, BBC, the Criterion Collection, First Run Features, Media Education Foundation, but also many other smaller, niche producers. The site offers both a platform from which to stream films as well as providing a video hosting service. A full range of academic subjects is covered and many of the films, programmes and clips are not otherwise available on DVD. The site also features detailed analytics so that librarians can more easily assess how the site is being used by students. Subscription is based on paying only for the films which students and institutions actually watch.

The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organisation in the United States in Alzheimer care, support and research. The Videos and Media pages of the site stream several videotapes outlining latest research in areas such as advances in brain imaging, mild cognitive impairment research, Alzheimer’s and genetics and the role of insulin. eLife publishes outstanding research in the life sciences and biomedicine, from the most fundamental and theoretical work, through to translational, applied, and clinical research. It aims to esearch to improve the way important results are presented and shared and the open-access eLife journal is the first step in the initiative to make science publishing more effective. Science and Society, launched in June 2003, was one of the first-internet radio programmes, and the site claims that it was one of the first in the United States to introduce downloadable podcasts as a value-added service. The podcasts present interviews with more than 600 world leaders in science, industry, and education. It focuses on Environmental conservation and sustainable energy policy, Medical breakthroughs, including cancer research, genetics and genomics, and bioengineering, Nanotechnology, Space exploration, Robotics and computer science and K-12 science education.
