The site offers both a platform from which to stream films as well as providing a video hosting service. A full range of academic subjects is covered and many of the films, programmes and clips are not otherwise available on DVD. The site also features detailed analytics so that librarians can more easily assess how the site is being used by students. Subscription is based on paying only for the films which students and institutions actually watch.

    The Further Mathematics Support Programme(FMSP) is supported by the Department for Education and managed by Mathematics in Education and Industry (MEI), an independent educational charity. The FMSP has worked with Peter Rowlett and Katie Steckles to produce a series of podcast called Taking Maths Further. Every episode takes a topic from the A level Maths or Further Maths syllabus and looks at its applications. Each episode includes an interview with someone working using related mathematics. Each podcast has an associated puzzle and further reading designed to stimulate students’ interest in mathematics outside of the curriculum. Topics have included calculus, medical imaging, statistical sampling and Boolean algebra.

There are over 70 titles covering topics such as 3D scanning and printing, the design of ring-pulls on cans, nanoscience, and crystal symmetry in mathematics and architecture. The site provides full information on each speaker and a summary of content; keywords are linked so topics can be searched across the various podcasts.
