    An acronym for ‘Technology, Entertainment, Design’, TED offers video recordings of presentations (of 18 minutes or less) by some of the world’s most prominent thinkers. The videos may be accessed direct from the TED website or via the TED channels on Youtube and iTunes. A fresh TEDTalk is posted every weekday and they are licensed under Creative Commons, so you’re welcome to link to or embed these videos, forward them to others and share the ideas with others.

    FORA.tv is an online television station delivering discourse, discussions and debates on the world’s most interesting political, social and cultural issues. The programmes (chiefly interviews and speeches) are divided into Arts and Culture, Business, Education, Environment, Politics, Religion, Science and Health, and Technology. Viewers are able to add comments and subject tags. All programmes are chaptered with synchronised transcripts.     The IBT is an independent production company specialising in making television programmes on development, environment and human rights issues. Their productions range from mainstream documentaries and drama to youth and schools programming. Some of the mainstream programmes have been adapted into educational packages. The site presents research reports from the Third World & Environment Broadcasting Project (3WE) that monitor the level of coverage of international topics in non-news and current affairs factual programming on UK terrestrial television.

    tve is an independent, non-profit organisation, which has been making, co-producing, or partnering in the production of films since the 1980s. Their aim is to produce films and enable others to produce films, about the environment, development, human rights and health. A significant archive can now be accessed via their website or their You Tube Channel. Films are organised under 23 categories including: climate change; energy and fuel; food fishing and farming; football; forests and trees; health; human rights; migration; oceans, rivers and seas; people and communities; protest; reusing and recycling; science and technology; trade and economics; transport; urban and rural; war and conflict; and women and equality.
    tve is also responsible for the tvebiomovies initiative- a film competition for young people around the world.
