Teachers TV, funded by the Department for Education but operated by an independent media consortium, produced 3,500 videos for professional development in schools until its closure in 2011. The programmes produced have since been made available via other sources for free online viewing or download, and the addresses for access are given on the DfE website. The Teachers TV programmes support the professional development of anyone working in school, enabling them to widen their skills and develop their practice. The sources currently hosting the videos are, SchoolsWorld.tv, and Laser Learning.

Member distributors include Bullfrog Films, California Newsreel, Direct Cinema Limited, Fanlight Productions, First Run/Icarus Films, New Day, and Women Make Movies.

Part of the Internet Archive, which also covers archived moving images (The Internet Moving Images Archive), audio and software, the Wayback Machine holds cached versions of thousands of websites and billions of pages, allowing users to look at sites that are no longer available or at earlier versions of ones that are still around. An invaluable resource that, due to the gigantic nature of the holdings, is slightly hampered by the fact that no list of the holdings can be easily provided. This means inevitably that correct recall of the URL in question is necessary, or failing that, searching for it on the web first.
