The Live Art Archives holds information about existing Live Art and Performance Art materials, records and publications primarily in England and the UK. The database of events seems not to be as comprehensive as when it was first created by Nottingham Trent University in 1997, but it was a useful search facility, and the site has valuble contact lists, details of courses, archives, databases and venues. Now based at Bristol University.

Film Education existed to encourage and promote the study of film and cinema within the UK National Curriculum. Although the organisation ceased to exist in April 2013, thanks to the support of Cinema First and Film Distributors’ Association, the organisation’s website and the library of online resources continues to be accessible, providing details on primary and secondary resources, CD-ROMs, a listing of commercial video titles selected for their suitability in classroom teaching, and education packs. Ian Wall, who founded Film Education in 1986, has since founded The Film Space, a new organisation, which seeks to encourage and build an understanding and appreciation of the moving image, in all its forms, amongst children and young people in full-time education.

This exceptionally plain-looking site from Australia claims to contain close to four thousands links which have been housed under a number of main categories, including: Theatre Practice, Drama, Theatre and Education, World Theatre, Theatre for Entertainment, Reference Tools, Internet Search Tools as well as a Theatre Message Board. All of these have been broken down into further subcategories and provide a mass of information relating to the history of the theatre, full length play scripts (and screenplays) as well as classroom resources and links to theatre courses taught in Australia, USA and the UK.

This site provides details on TV programmes mainly from the UK, as well as America, Canada, Australia and a smattering of items from other countries. The entries provide only the most basic information (transmission dates, number of episodes, main cast and credits and a one line description), but the breadth of information is the main attraction. There are also over a hundred episode guides. Searches are by title only, although some types of programmes (soaps, sitcoms, children’s tv, quiz shows etc) have been clustered together. Though the site is neither particularly elegant to look at nor flexible to use, and the details are on the scanty side, it contains much valuable information and is of great nostalgic value for those so inclined. Other sections of the site give DVD, television and film news and reviews with a US-slant. This site is no longer active, but the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine offers a capture of the website as it appeared on 26/09/2010. This does not include access to the moving images.
