Some of the items give information on courses and research opportunities within particular departments, but most are recordings of lectures or discussions. Leading motor manufacturers and companies such as IBM, Microsoft, Pfitzer as well as organizations including the International Olympic Committee, Google, Yahoo! and Visit Mexico stream clips on the site. Free registration allows bona fide broadcast and online journalists and bloggers to see free or chargeable content to incorporate into their work. BrandTV enables any organization to create a branded online video channel on their website and to utilize viral tools while retaining control; MarketPlace is an online video exchange for content producers who wish to buy or sell premium video. In April 2008 The News Market site launched the Bejing 2008 Channel offering video clips dedicated to athletes, venues, events and Beijing itself.

    The RSA (Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce) works to remove the barriers to social progress. It drives ideas, innovation and social change through an ambitious programme of projects, events and lectures. These lectures, available as live webcasts, streamed video or audio, and podcasts, feature some of the world’s most influencial thinkers such as Steven Pinker, and cover a wide range of topics such as whether scientists get the media they deserve, the science of persuasion, secularism, and restructuring the global economy for a sustainable future. There is also a series of podcast interviews with Royal Designers. A particularly notable new addition is the ingenious RSA Animate series, which includes animated interpretations of essays from the likes of Philip Zimbardo, Jeremy Rifkin and Barbara Ehrenreich.

    Gresham College, named after Sir Thomas Gresham, has been giving free lectures for some 400 years. Over 2,000 audio and/or video lectures given since 2001 are available on the site for free, on-demand streaming or download approximately two weeks after they have been given. The main subject areas are Art & Literature, Medical Science, Business, History, Law, Mathematics, Music, Politics, Religion, Science, and Unusual, which includes Media, Education, Climate Change and others. Results can also be filtered by subcategories. For example, there is a section on Film under the Arts & Literature category, and a section on Film Music under the Music category. The lectures last, on average, between 25 minutes and a little under an hour. They all have a good number of chapters and a fair amount of information is given on the site as well as transcripts and links to related materials.
    The content can also be browsed via the tab Watch which contains four groupings: All Past Lectures, Series, Shorts and Short Series.
