Ed Prosser is a multi-media producer with a background in science. This site features his work, in audio and video, including films made for the Ri, podcasts and audio documentaries. Prosser also provides links to and comments on other science videos which he finds interesting. One of the most useful aspects of the site, are the extensive production notes which accompany each film. These notes explore the challenges of making science films. Prosser looks at the technical aspects of filmmaking: how to integrate interviews, animation, slides, what equipment to use etc. but also explores the challenges of how to clearly present complex scientific ideas to a YouTube audience without sacrificing accuracy.

The goal of this website is to explain how environmental scientists work and why the work they do is important. The site is run by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), the UK public body that supports and funds the natural and environmental sciences, via major environmental research centres: the British Antarctic Survey, the British Geological Survey, the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, the National Centre for Atmospheric Science, the National Centre for Earth Observation and the National Oceanography Centre. As well as News and Features sections there is a Podcasts and Video page, where various aspects of the work done by the above bodies are discussed.
