History is for the most part interpreted as conflict here and features information on films depicting the Vietnam War (Platoon, Full Metal Jacket, Hamburger Hill), the second World War (The Great Escape, Saving Private Ryan, Patton, Bridge on the River Kwai), The American Civil War (Gone With The Wind, Gettysburg) as well as coverage of films and tv dramas set in Ancient Rome (I, Claudius, Cleopatra, Spartacus). It provides plot and episode summaries and compares the dramas against historical records with useful timelines and other materials. This site is no longer active, but the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine offers a capture of the website as it appeared on 29/09/2011. This does not include access to the moving images.
