Wildlife on webcams offers live footage of intriguing behaviours: from courtship, nesting and hatching to a view of the first weeks of a chick’s life. This unrivaled moving image material is provided by the Wildlife Trusts across the British Isles. The webcams may not be available all year-round. At present (June 2018) it includes , Peregrines nesting in Derby Cathedral, Nesting barn owls, Cumbria’s only grey seal, Welsh ospreys, Rutland’s nesting ospreys, Puffins on the island of Burhou, Scotland’s red squirrels and many more. Of particular educative value within the website is the section Species, which offers very detailed information on each specific animal or plant. For example, under Amphibians we can look at the Common Frog and find out information regarding its average length, weight and lifespan; details of conservation status, habitats and geographical distribution, and how to identify them.
