An oral history website which presents 100 interviews with people with diabetes, as well as their family members and healthcare professionals. The histories span people’s experiences from the 1920s - when insulin was first used as a treatment - to the early years of the 21st century, offering a unique record of how people have lived with the illness over the years. The interviews are presented with background notes, short audio samples and full interviews, which are divided into separate tracks and accompanied by full transcripts. The site is based at the Oxford Society for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism and is the result of two Wellcome Trust funded projects.
