Human Rights Watch is an international non-governmental organisation dedicated to protecting the human rights of people around the world. Its aim is to prevent discrimination, to uphold political freedom, to protect people from inhumane conduct in wartime, and to bring offenders to justice by investigating and exposing human rights violations and holding abusers accountable. The website features videos, interviews, podcasts as well as photo essays and audio slideshows. The videos take the form of short documentaries which focus on a particular country, often featuring eyewitness accounts of abuse and human rights violations. WANTED FOR WAR CRIMES looks at the Congolese general wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes and playing a prominent role in ethnic massacres, killings, rape and torture as well as recruiting children for his army. Other films consider the displacement of indigenous people in Ethiopia, civilian casualties, the 2011 Libya campaign and war crimes in Idlib during peace negotiations in the Syrian conflict.
