From Shakespeare to Science: Supporting Best Practice in Student Engagement (Including the BUFVC AGM 2015)

This one-day conference will focus on how moving image and sound can be used to enhance student engagement. The day will bring together leading experts and practitioners from across the sector to share best practice, discuss different perspectives and provide practical advice on how the BUFVC’s (and others’) specialist audio-visual resources can be used to underpin effective outcomes.

The day will include:

  • An interactive session on flipped learning from Simon Lancaster, University of East Anglia
  • An introduction to flipped learning from Damien Mansell, University of Exeter
  • A session on student engagement and moving image from John Wyver, University of Westminster
  • An update from Richard Leeming, BBC, on the RES project and the hundreds of Shakespeare television and radio programmes that are available from the BBC Archive
  • A session on how to use BUFVC resources to engage students
  • Meeting the BUFVC team and an opportunity to ask any copyright, service or research questions
  • The launch of the 2015 edition of our popular copyright booklet, Can I Copy This? (all attendees will receive a free copy)

This conference is suitable for all further and higher education practitioners interested in enhancing student engagement. The BUFVC AGM is also scheduled during the day for voting members to attend.
