LoS Awards 2015

This year’s Learning on Screen Awards, the 11th in its revered history, took place on the 23rd April 2015. A resounding success, the event unfolded at the BFI Southbank, and was, in our humble opinion, the best LoS yet!

Each year, broadcasters, production companies, educational institutions, students, and a host of other organisations, remind us once more of the importance moving image and sound play in learning, teaching and research.

Our heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and nominees, all of whom had their incredible work showcased before a sold-out attendance of industry peers, professionals, and hopefuls.

Our thanks, too, to this year’s sponsors, Fifty-Fifty Post Production, Max Communications, and Stockroom London, whose contributions made the night possible.

With utmost gratitude, we also thank our guest speaker, award-winning broadcaster and journalist, Samira Ahmed. Samira presents BBC1’s Newswatch, as well as Radio 4’s Front Row, and has a special interest in the link between popular culture, politics and social change. With an opening address that both entertained and educated, Samira was the perfect choice for this year’s event, embodying the spirit of the award’s to its fullest.

And so, to all involved, as well as those with an eye on next year’s awards, keep up the good work. We’ll see you all in 2016!

“I was fascinated by the creative range and technical skill on display at the awards. And quite frankly it took my breath away to see the level of talent and skill in all the student nominations. It’s turned out to be hugely inspiring to me to see how much great screen talent is being successfully nurtured in our universities and colleges all over the country.” – Samira Ahmed, guest speaker, Learning On Screen 2015
