People’s Infirmary, The

Synopsis
The is the story of North Staffordshire’s Infirmary, not of a building but an organisation which has, for over 200 years, provided the best service to the community that could be afforded at any one time. Until 1948, the people of North Staffordshire led the way in providing sources of funding for their Infirmary. Since 1948 many people have given their time to serve the Infirmary and generously answer appeals for funds. Now a part of the North Staffordshire Hospitals NHS Trust, it looks with optimism to the new hospital development and medical school.
Illustrated with original documents, early prints and photographs and rare archive film this is a personal guide by Dr. Alun Davies through the fascinating history of the North Staffordshire Infirmary.
