Synopsis

The idea that democracy should be about dialogue and compromise seems to have recently disappeared from many countries including the US, Hungary and Turkey. In Spain the prime example of this new political condition is the constitutional crisis arising from the referendum for Catalan independence. 20-S is a detailed reconstruction of what happened on the day of the referendum outside the Catalan Finance Ministry buildings in Barcelona. The Spanish judiciary is demanding 30 years in jail for two Catalan politicians involved in the events.[58 minutes]
