Detroit

Synopsis
A report of gunshots prompts the Detroit Police to search the Algiers Motel. A group of young people staying there are forcefully and viciously interrogated by the riot task force. By the end of the night, three unarmed men are gunned down while several others are brutally beaten. Kathryn Bigelow’s film is a compelling dramatization of the riots that took place over five nights in Detroit during the summer of 1967, which left 43 people dead, most of them African Americans.
