Synopsis
Television documentary. Cambridge Professor of Classics, Mary Beard, presents new insights into the lives of the people who lived and died in Pompeii, based on the discovery of 54 skeletons in a cellar in Oplontisl, three miles from the centre of Pompeii. Forensic tests have revealed what hose who perished in the disaster ate and drank, where they came from, what diseases they suffered, how rich they were, and the details of their sex lives
