Synopsis
BBC2 three-part series presented by Professor Amanda Vickery exploring the history of women artists in Europe from the Renaissance onwards. It reflects the journey women’s creativity has taken, how it has brought intimacy, nature, the domestic and human emotion centre stage and features interviews with female British artist of the day, Tracey Emin. Artists featured include Sofonisba Anguissola, Anne Seymour Damer, Angelica Kauffman, and the 17th-century Dutch paper cutter Joanna Koerten.
