Silbury Hill

Synopsis
Standing 130 feet high and 100 feet across the flat top, Silbury Hill is the largest man-made mound in Europe. Though built by Stone Age people around 4,500 years ago, it still dominates the landscape and contains a quarter of a million cubic meters of chalk. Archaeologists are still trying to uncover its secrets after 200 years of research and speculation. This film was made by Diane Scully and Sara Proudfoot Finch as part of the University of Bristol Archaeology for Screen Media Programme. [10 minutes]
