Online exhibition, curated by Daniel Rosenthal, telling the story of Shakespeare at the National Theatre through eight landmark productions. It illuminates the work of directors and experience of actors and audiences using photographs, letters, design sketches, reviews and interviews. The plays are: As You Like It (Clifford Williams), Measure for Measure (Michael Rudman), King Lear (David Hare), Antony and Cleopatra (Peter Hall), The Merchant of Venice (Trevor Nunn), Henry V (Nicholas Hytner), The Comedy of Errors (Dominic Cooke).
