Synopsis
This DVD includes three films exploring the ethical, legal and religious dimensions of the abortion debate. The first film, ABORTION: ANCIENT AND MODERN 1 (18 minutes) explores legal and ethical attitudes to abortion through the ages, highlighting key ideas such as Animation, Ensoulment, Quickening and The Born Alive rule. The second film ABORTION: ANCIENT AND MODERN 2 (15 minutes), shows how, while advances in medical technology have given us a window on the world of the womb as never before they also raise critical questions about personhood, viability, selective abortion and embryology. Finally ABORTION: ANCIENT AND MODERN 3 (19 minutes), looks at attituded to abortion within the Christian church
