- Synopsis
- This collection of films by Jo Ann Kaplan comprises a selection of her most personal work, as well as her biographical film about Maya Deren. MAYA DEREN: INVOCATION is narrated by Helen Mirren, with original recordings of Maya Deren, and interviews with Hella Hammid, Sasha Hammid, Amos and Marcia Vogel, Stan Brakhage, Jonas Mekas, and Joseph Campbell. The other films are: STORY OF I (1997); An ANATOMY OF MELANCHOLY (2000); ONETWOTHREE (2010) and WATCHING PAINT DRY (2010).
