Synopsis
Stanley Kubrick’s first feature film, an allegory about four soldiers trapped behind enemy lines in a nameless war, is presented in the Masters of Cinema edition in its new restoration carried out in 2012 by The Library of Congress. Extras on both DVD and Blu-Ray editions include Kubrick’s early short films DAY OF THE FIGHT (1951); FLYING PADRE (1951) and The SEAFARERS; a new and exclusive video discussion of the film by critic and Stanley Kubrick author Bill Krohn; and a booklet with a long essay by critic and Kubrick scholar James Naremore on FEAR AND DESIRE and the early shorts.
