Synopsis
The film examines the question ‘What is offender profiling? and takes a look at the background to psychological profiling in criminal psychology from its early development to how it is practised today. The various approaches used in offender profiling are explored and the benefits and drawbacks are discussed.
The programme uses real life case studies and interviews with some of the top practitioners and experts to demonstrate the role that offender profiling plays in establishing the personality and behavioural characteristics of offenders who can then be brought to justice.
