Britten: War Requiem

Synopsis
2012 sees the 50th anniversary of Britten’s War Requiem and the building it was written for, Coventry Cathedral. The work combines the words of the Latin Mass for the Dead and poems by the First World War poet Wilfred Owen. Andris Nelsons conducts the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and CBSO choral forces.
