Synopsis
Produced by the University of East Anglia, this programme examines stringed instruments via the form and origin of the string quartet from its inception as ‘chamber’ music in the eighteenth century to its performance today, and features the work of the Lindsay Quartet led by Peter Cropper. The programme also shows a violin in the making based upon the design of old Italian masters.
