Real Thing, The

Synopsis
The Humane Research Trust is a national charity which works with scientists to develop new medical research techniques without the use of animals, for the permanent benefit of people. For over 30 years, The Trust has been at the forefront of efforts to promote the health of people and at the same time reduce animal suffering in the laboratory.
Commissioned by the Trust, this DVD shows the broad range of research projects being funded, as well as introducing some of the scientists working on them. The Trust clams that animals do not behave or react in the same way as people, and there are more reliable methods of research than using animals, thus reducing cruelty while benefiting people.
