- Synopsis
- A 1981 episode of The World About Us that documents the history of political struggle between Tibet and China through archival film shot by western travellers in the early part of the century. Shows daily life and Tibetan Buddhist public rituals in the days before Chinese occupation, as well as the exodus of the Tibetans from their homeland to India led by the 15 year old Dalai Lama. Examines changes in the country after the Chinese invasion in 1950.
