Synopsis
A major series of 12, 60-minute television programmes presenting a penetrating look at post-Mao China. The first programme, REMEMBERING, puts modern China in a historical perspective, and each of the subsequent programmes focusses on an activity which is found in all societies, looking at in what ways the Chinese approach to everyday life is similar to and different from our own. These cover caring, believing mediating, eating, correcting, living, working, marrying, understanding, trading, and creating. Narrated by Anthony Quayle.
