Non-Violent Resistance Programme

Synopsis
This group work programme offers a series of ten sessions to help parents, professional staff and carers resist out of control and violent behaviour from young people. The programme teaches strategies for de-escalating conflict and increasing ‘parental presence’ in children’s lives. The resource consists of printed material, a CD-ROM containing addiiional materials such as handouts, essays, parent workbook and Non-Violent Resistance booklet, and a DVD of role plays that are used during the programme.

This resource is suitable for anyone providing services to parents and carers of children and young people. This includes clinicians, social workers, youth offending team workers, child and adolescent mental health services, teachers, faith groups and schools.
