Shock Doctrine

Synopsis
A hard-hitting short film centering on ‘disaster capitalism’ and based on Naomi Klein’s book of the same name. Klein reveals how capitalism has consistently been forced upon disaster-shocked people, connecting economic policy, warfare and covert CIA-funded experiments in electro-shock and sensory deprivation in the 1950s. Using animated graffiti and instructional diagrams, the film consists of a mix of biting animated vignettes, archive clips, and typography to create a shocking short film experience. Directed by Alfonso and Jonás Cuarón, (animation by Foreign Office). 7 minutes.
