Synopsis
Radio broadcast. In this interval programme, presenter Roy Walker examines the current fashion in staging Shakespeare, focusing on costumes and set design. Particular reference is being made to Michael Langham’s production of Timon of Athens which was shown at the Chichester Festival (opening April 8, 1964) and sets the play in the Mediterranean of the 1920s and 1930s, mixing elements of Greek, French, and Spanish North African cultures.
