Notes
The restoration of the German premiere version by the Deutsches Filminstitut is based on a tinted distribution print in the Deutsches Filminstitut (DIF). Missing and damaged sequences were supplemented by footage from the French distribution version held in the Centre National de la Cinematographie. Both prints were made from the same negative in the early 1920s. The German intertitles match the exact wording recorded in the German censorship record issued on 10 November 1920.

The restoration received financial support from ZDF in collaboration with ARTE and the Hessische Kulturstiftung.

The film was released in July 2011 as a 2 disc set and includes DER ELEKTRONISCHE HAMLET (2008, d. Achim Forst) and DIE FILMRIMADONNA (1913, d. Gade). The DVD of HAMLET includes a 20-page bilingual booklet with essays by Holger Ziegler, Thomas Worschech and Anke Mebold.
