This programme shows faces that would previously have been horribly scarred being saved by surgeons using 21st century technology. A man’s lower jaw is rotting away because the radiotherapy that cured his cancer has killed healthy bone and tissue. Now a computer generated 3-D model of his jaw will help his surgeon rebuild the dying jaw. At the Royal London hospital, a new 3-D scanner is helping maxillae-facial consultant Simon Holmes save the faces of his trauma patients including a teenager whose face was ripped off by a falling wall and Esther who suffered horrific injuries in a motorbike accident.
