Synopsis
The St George’s Clinical Skills series is designed as a teaching and revision tool for undergraduate medical and healthcare students. Good technique is demonstrated to provide step by step guides using live action and animation. Where appropriate, relevant anatomy and physiology is also covered to create an in depth understanding of each technique. All programmes are designed with full menus to enable viewing of the full programme or selective sections — particularly helpful for revision purposes

This programme details the procedures for assessing the conscious levels in acute patients, using the Glasgow Coma Scale.There are seven sections: Introduction to the Glasgow Coma Scale; Consciousness, from a functional viewpoint; Patient examination, and how to score for — Eye opening, Verbal response, Motor response; Totaling the scores, and correct reporting. The programme concludes with a series of interactive self-testing questions on scoring of patient signs for the Glasgow Coma Scale.
