Ordnance Survey Integrated Transport Network Podcast

Synopsis
Gavin Jackman, Ordnance Survey’s product manager for transport network data, talks to Scott Sinclair about how the roads are represented in mapping data in this Ordnance Survey podcast. He discusses how Ordnance Survey’s road network data underpins a huge range of industries, from local government, the utilities companies, to supermarket delivery services, while looking to the future as satellite navigation becomes increasingly common place. The Integrated Transport Network (ITN) Layer is an accurate, detailed and up-to-date geographic reference base for Great Britain’s road infrastructure. Part of OS MasterMap, it complements the Topography, Address and Imagery Layers to support decision making and services benefiting from precision detail on all aspects of the transport route network.
