Synopsis
Feature film. Servais Mont (Testi), a photographer, meets Nadine Chevalier (Schneider) who earns her money starring in soft porn movies. Trying to help her, he borrows the money from loan sharks to finance the theatrical production of Richard III and gives Nadine a part as Lady Anne. Nadine is torn between Servais, for whom she is falling in love, and her husband Jacques, to whom she has moral obligations. Lanier (op cit) records that the rehearsals for Lady Anne’s wooing scene are shown with the actors reading aloud while seated; lines from Richard’s opening speech are spoken and the Battle of Shrewsbury is portrayed as a ballet. Some actors wear Samurai armour.
