Lime - Mortars, Renders and Plasters
- Synopsis
- For centuries lime has been the fundamental ingredient of building mortars, plasters and renders. In the 20th Century it was largely replaced by cement and gypsum. However, an understanding of the chemistry of lime together with an appreciation of its unique characteristics and properties is fundamental to anyone interested in building conservation. This film explains how lime is produced and examines a number of applications in the repair of buildings.
